Essential Auction News

Welcome to the September newsletter that looks back at auction activity in August and preceding periods. Only 43 auctions were held in August, as most of the industry sought a well-earned break from an unrelenting campaign thus far.

Whilst numbers are down on last year - lots offered and sold both dropped by 16% and 20% respectively - the small sample set does not merit any meaningful conclusions to be drawn. We are now in the thick of what is traditionally the busiest month in the auction calendar, so do look out for next month's newsletter to see how the industry fares.

National Auction Analysis

788 and 547 residential lots were offered and sold respectively last month, generating £62.6M in sales revenue. Those numbers account for over 90% of the total lots offered, sold and amount raised last month, as only a handful of commercial lots were offered by regional auctioneers.
