Essential Auction News

Welcome to the November newsletter that looks back at auction activity in October and preceding periods. After a very busy September round of auctions that we reported on last month, a review of the numbers for October sales compared with October last year shows a different story. Only 11 out of a possible 36 arrows were ‘green’, much of which is due to reduced stock levels when compared with last year. Overall, lots offered was down almost 23% at 2,459 lots, residential lots offered was only down 13%, with the biggest decline seen with commercial lots down 62%.

Against that, the sales rate was up overall 4.6% with both sectors in positive territory. Interestingly the regional analysis shows that some regions had a very good month whilst other were unable to match last October’s figures.

As ever I would welcome any comments or feedback you may have regarding the newsletter or indeed the wider market in general.

Please note the newsletter can also be viewed online.
